This is the series (American version already I think) that I’m currently crazy about. The Last Apprentice (the original title is “The Wardstone Chronicles,” which I prefer really) is the title. It’s about an apprentice spook (fights the dark) and his master spook. Really nice series, worth reading!
Book 1’s a bit slow at start, but upon continuing, it is really exciting. It’s not “unputdown-able” (if there’s such a word) like Dan Brown’s “Angels and Demons,” but it packs the same entertainment for me.
Book 3’s a bit, let’s say, laid-back. But book4 is awesome, which continues till book 7 (currently reading).
I only have the paperback versions coz the hardbound ones are really expensive (as usual! XD). It has I think one more book which is book 8 entitled “Rage of the Fallen.” It has 3 side books too, “Coven of Witches,” “The Spook’s tale and other horrors,” and the best I think is “The Spook’s bestiary.”
Any readers of this series out there?

    The Last Apprentice series!
